Temple Mills

The Temple Mills Depot is a £400M maintenance depot for the Eurostar rolling stock.It serves the new high speed route between St. Pancras and the Eurotunnel.

The high speed route (HS1) opened on 14th November 2007 taking passengers between St Pancras and Paris in 2 hours 15 minutes and Brussels in less than 2 hours at speeds of up to 186mph.

The 109 km high-speed rail link is the first major new railway to be built in this country in over a century.

Temple Mills is designed to house 8-train roads. The overall dimensions of the 8-road shed will be just under 450m long by 64m wide

The maintenance shed and all ancillary buildings were protection against lightning and were fitted with earthing systems where applicable.
