Ascot
Ascot is one of the oldest racecourses in the world, dating back to 1711 when Queen Anne staged a race there.
The stadium is known for the Royal Ascot which is held once a year. The stadium underwent a £335m reconstruction that was completed for the Royal Ascot in 2006
The new grandstand is supported by triple tree-shaped trusses which are up to 37m long which were fabricated on site.
The Galleria is over 350m long and the capacity for the ground is now 80,000. The grandstand was given protection against lightning by R. C. Cutting.
